Eos Cortex Factor Calculation Methodology

Calculation of rate table values
Cortex's factor libraries use two (2) project fields as dimensions stored as factor table variables and represented as a 2-dimensional rate table: 1) a list-type field representing the Project’s location, and 2) a date-type field representing the project date (the definition of the date is defined by the client e.g. Estimate date, Project completion date, etc.).

Calculation when applying factors
The applied (overall) value is the relationship between the {source} project or projects' baseline location and time-based project fields. When the user applies their desired {target} location and time-based values in Cortex Inquiry, the system will divide the {target} rate value of the intersection on the rate table by the intersection of the {source} projects' location and time-based fields.

...the {source} project's (Synthon Mebane) location and time-based values are:

Time-based 1999

...the user factored {target} the project to:

Location USA-AZ-Phoenix

Time-based 2020

This corresponds to a rate table value of 170.13

...the overall factor result is 192.13, which is applied to all target projects and/or item fields based on the following calculation:

Target / Source * 100 = Result

170.13 / 88.5 * 100 = 192.13
